Stat Categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

Playoff Format:
Top 6 teams from Rotisserie regular season make playoffs.

Playoff Seed Tie-Breaker:
In the rare event of a points tie for the final playoff spot(s) or a bye position, a 5-day H2H playoff showdown will take place between the two teams during the break week. If there are more than 2 teams involved, a multi-team H2H playoff showdown will take place (if ESPN allows multi-team matchups).

PLEASE NOTE: Regular season-ties that involve the $ positions will be shared, REGARDLESS of the showdown results. In other words, if a tie occurs for the #2 seed between 2 teams, the teams would split the regular season 2nd place and 3rd place prize $.

If the tie does NOT involve playoff spots or the bye, then no showdown will take place, and teams will share the 2 seeds in question.

Break Week:

The week immediately following the end of the regular season, where the playoff teams will be moved to the H2H league. Any regular season tiebreaker showdowns would take place now, from the Wed-Sun of that week.

Week 1:

#1 & #2 seeds get byes. The #3 seed will face the #6 seed, and the #4 seed will face the #5 seed. In the event of a category tie (5-5, 4-4-2, etc.), the higher seed will win the tiebreaker.

Week 2:

#1 seed faces the lowest seeded winner of Week 1
#2 seed faces the highest seeded winner of Week 1

In the event of a category tie (5-5, 4-4-2, etc.), the higher seed will win the tiebreaker.
In the rare event where two equal seeds are involved, a coin flip will determine the matchups.

Week 3:

Week 2 winners face off for H2H playoff title
Week 2 losers face off for 3rd place playoff prize

In the event of category tie (5-5, 4-4-2, etc.), the higher seed will win the tiebreaker.

Playoff Tiebreakers Between Equally Seeded Teams (Teams tied in the Regular Season who then meet each other & tie in H2H playoffs):

In the rare event where a playoff tie occurs between two equally seeded teams, RRF's head will explode. lol!

After RRF's head is reassembled, if ESPN allows it, a one-day playoff will be held the next Monday - and the stats from that one-day playoff will also carry on for the winner into their next matchup.

Are the settings a paste and copy from ESPN? In ESPN, the playoffs settings are a hard bracket (at least they have been) and the #1 seed won't necessarily face the lowest seed unless they've updated their settings or you've made other arrangements.

Hmmm....it does appear that the Commish can set the matchups before playoffs begin (thus the need for the extra week off) - but not after. So, yes, consider the playoff matchup as per ESPN:

Week 1

1 & 2 get byes
3 vs. 6
4 vs. 5

Week 2

3 vs. 6 - #2 seed faces winner
4 vs. 5 - #1 seed faces winner

Week 3

Week 2 winners play for championship
Week 2 losers play for 3rd place $$

With our move to Fantrax, the tie-breaker system will run differently in 2013, because we don't have an off-week scheduled in.

So, for 2013:

-In the event of a tie for the 2nd place (last bye) or the 6th place (last playoff spot), a 2-day tie-breaker H2H 5x5 playoff category tiebreaker will be held, with each category being a W/L/T. Each team will have a maximum of 3 transactions, and 5 starts for SP's during this 2-day tiebreaker. In the event of a H2H tie during the tiebreaker, then batting .avg will be the tiebreaker, followed by ERA. If there is a 3-way tie or more, then each team will face off against the other 2 teams, and the cumulative W-L-T record will carry the day.
-In the event of a tie that involves other spots other than the 2nd place and/or 6th place spot, no tie-breaker match will be held. The $ (if any) will be divided evenly, and the tiebreaker of .avg, then ERA will be used for seeding purposes.

For 2013, the season will end on a Friday, and playoffs will start on a Monday - this will ensure that a full 2-day schedule of games is in place for the tiebreaker. For 2012, given the season is set to end on a Sunday, in the event of a tiebreaker, then the playoffs will be delayed for a week while a full 1-week tiebreaker with the 2012 H2H playoff setting (minimum 9 SP's on roster, max 12 SP starts by a team during the week) will be in effect.

Also, for 2013:

-We suspended the roster size maximums for reserve players and minimum # for starting pitchers, in order to allow teams to sit players down for bad matchups, and allow their teams to catch up on games played max and IP max when they were ahead of their pace, without having to cut their best players. We will keep the removal of the reserve maximum for 2013 - but for 2013, the 9-pitcher starting minimum will be in effect again - because we instituted this change mid-season, it proved too difficult to retro-actively apply, as teams had 8 pitchers going on several days prior to this rule's institution. But for 2013, the 9-pitcher minimum for active rosters will be re-instituted.
